Wigan Teletext Fest 2017: SETI Escape Room Days Announced

Wigan Teletext Fest in association with Wigan STEAM and Re-Dock are pleased to confirm six dates for the SETI escape room!

We’ve a total of 36 slots for teams to escape the space/teletext/retro future themed escape room, which will be built at Wigan STEAM over the next two weeks.

What’s all this?

Digital Dan has been kidnapped by aliens, and we need your help to rescue him by deciphering messages and clues that the aliens have sent us! Come and enjoy our escape room and take part in a digital art workshop afterwards.

What’s an escape room?

An escape room contains a series of logic puzzles which you must complete in order to escape. It’s like the Crystal Maze, except it all takes place in just one room. Don’t get locked in or the aliens might come for you next!

Is the room built yet?

We’re building it right now! Follow @illarterate and @WiganSTEAM on Twitter to see the escape room in development – we promise there won’t be too many spoilers.

How do I book?

Want to join the Search for Extra-Teletextual Intelligence? You can book a slot for your team of up to five people via the Wigan STEAM Eventbrite here. It’s first come first serve, and as mentioned, slots are limited so book your place now – it’s FREE. This means there is no cost whatsoever!

As an added BONUS, each escape room slot comes with a FREE digital art workshop. Once you’re finished in the room, you can create teletext pages to be sent out into space on the SETI Golden VHS tape.

All escape room days are listed on the Teletext Art events page along with other confirmed SETI activities.
