Following the rip-roaring success of April’s Blockdown Party @Home, we are pleased to confirm that the teletext party Blocktober will be returning this autumn. Due to the current global situation, this festival will once again be held online – but all are still welcome!
You can join us for the main event on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October, when we will host a series of interactive panels and teletext editing sessions via Twitch and Discord.
Subjects for discussion include the mysterious world of teletext recovery and the mobocratic world of Digitiser.
There will also be at least two additional streams:
- The Grand Blocktober Launch on Saturday 3rd October, 6-8pm UK
- Blocktober Closing Stream on Saturday 31st October, 6-8pm UK
Each of the events throughout Blocktober will be streamed on Alistair Cree’s Twitch channel, and you can interact with us directly via the Teletext Discord.
Monstober: Teletext art contest
As usual, we will be running a teletext art competition. Monstober, as we have dubbed it, will be accepting entries throughout the month via the Chunkytext submissions system commandeered by Alistair Cree.
David Walford, who has previously organised Chunky Fringe and Blockdown Party, is taking the reins with this event and its companion art competition. You can find more information about Blocktober 2020 at David’s website here. Further details of individual panels and events will be confirmed in due course.
