TART2020 (Teletext Art 2020) has begun broadcasting on Finland’s Yle Text service.
Presented by FixC and the Museum of Teletext Art, the festival will be featured on YLE Text pages 820 to 831 and include artwork from 11 international artists. These works first appeared in the exhibtion ‘Teletext Meets Art‘ on ARD Text (Germany) and ORF Text (Austria) in 2019.
As a bonus, pages 832 to 834 will be showing additional artwork from two legendary YLE Text artists: Anniina Wallius and Matti Ramo.
- Wallius’ ‘Cat Calendar’ was first broadcast in 1997, and features furry felines for each month of the year.
- Ramo’s ‘Biroto, ergo domi sum’ (I Cycle, Therefore I’m Home) reflects his passion for travelling the world via bicycle.
All works will be viewable on Yle until 25 April 2020, but they will remain at teletextart.com on a more permanent basis for international viewers to savour.
Don’t forget that the Museum of Teletext Art still has a presence on page 805 of Yle Text. At time of writing, the featured artwork is Jarkko Rasanen’s “:/”. Also see page 806 for another selected artwork from the vast Yle archives.
