Teletext40, the web’s only dedicated internet teletext web service, proudly announced the launch of its 2014 advent calendar yesterday. Every day in December, a new piece of festive teletext artwork will be posted at page 500 in the vein of classic TV teletext calendars. Except it’s on that thing that actually outdates teletext, namely th’internet.

With colourful contributions from the t40 team, it’s a throwback to the days when you didn’t have to pay anything (but the TV license fee) to access the blockiest, most pixellated pseudo-chocs of dubious dusty taste. Ah yes, I can still taste the dead bugs now.

Don’t worry if you miss a page or two, because there’s an archive of artwork that will build throughout the month. By 1 January 2015, a whopping 31 designs will have materialised via the magic of the intramanet! Score one for modern tech (and believe me, I am keeping a detailed scorebook here).
