NEW BOOK: 50(+) years of Teletext: Behind the scenes of a cult medium by Andreas Simhofer

s: Andreas Simhofer

Andreas Simhofer, founding member of Austria’s ORF Text more than 45 years ago, has published a new book reflecting upon his history working in teletext.

Starting with the very birth of the medium in 1974, Simhofer guides you through its history, jumping head first into ORF Text’s foundation in 1980 and the service’s subsequent adventures up to present day.

The book features many notable teletext people, and some less notable ones including myself – I have contributed to a chapter about teletext art. But please don’t let that deter you from getting the book.

General Disco Lamer: At time of writing I haven't read this yet but I've got it on order.

This book is in German, but an eBook version that you can translate to your preferred language will follow at a later date. For the time being, 50(+) years of Teletext is available in paperback, and you can buy it from these places:
